SOTO

PARTNER Zurcher Odio Raven

Douglas Soto concentrates his practice on banking, M&A, joint ventures, real estate, and foreign investment. He graduated in Law from the Universidad de Costa Rica in 1998, held a post-graduate degree in Commercial Law in 2003, and an HLSEE for M&A from Harvard Law School. 

 

He has vast experience representing top-ranked financial institutions, with a deep understanding of the domestic and international banking market. His expertise includes syndicated and bilateral, secured and unsecured, and domestic and cross-border financing transactions. 

 

He has extensive experience representing real estate developers from the creation of the corporation, due diligence and purchase of the real property, setting up their tax structure, assisting the development and sale of their projects. He also focused his practice on private equity and M&A, leading several cross-border transactions. He has written several articles on financial and legal issues.

MARIPAZ
SERRANO

ASSOCIATE Zurcher Odio Raven

Maripaz is an Associate of Zurcher Odio & Raven in San José, Costa Rica. She specializes in corporate, real estate, foreign investment, in addition to the specific process of Global Mobility and Relocation. 

 

She has advised and participated in several transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, business sales, due diligence processes, and corporate restructuring. Additionally, she represents domestic and multinational companies starting operations in Costa Rica, and actively advises them in the review of contracts and in day-to-day legal issues of commercial nature.

 

In the practice of Global Mobility & Relocation, she represents domestic and transnational companies on their registration for recognition of companies before the General Directorate of Migration and Immigration. She also advises companies on the hiring of foreigners, work permits, applications for residency, changes of status, categories, and special permits.
